Growing community of European airlines relying on the Sirax AirFinance Platform
Brussels Airlines today announced that it will optimize its revenue accounting processes using the Sirax AirFinance platform from Lufthansa Systems. The IT service provider will implement the Sirax, SiraxCredit and newly developed Sirax View modules at the Belgian airline and operate the system in its own data center. The five-year contract between the two partners also covers the revenue accounting processes for airDC, the Congolese start-up airline set up by Brussels Airlines.
"The new system is intended to enhance the transparency of our accounting processes and contribute to reducing costs and increasing flexibility and data quality. After an extensive selection process, we chose Sirax from Lufthansa Systems because it is the perfect fit for our needs," explained Vanessa Rentiers, Revenue Accounting & Credit Control Manager from Brussels Airlines. "Another key factor for our decision is Lufthansa Systems' ability to provide all the services we require – from implementation and customizing to operations and support."
The Sirax revenue accounting solution was developed in cooperation with Lufthansa Revenue Services. The system controls and manages an airline's revenue process by performing a fully automatic check of ticket sales against actual flight data. Integrated sub-processes also support the billing of interline flights between airlines. Based on this check, the actual revenues are then calculated within a very short timeframe.
“Our Sirax AirFinance Platform is the first integrated platform to optimize all of an airline’s financial processes – from Revenue Accounting to Cost Controlling. We continue to further enhance the innovative solution and SiraxView is one of the latest developments in the Sirax AirFinance Platform. I am very pleased that with Brussels Airlines the first customer opts for this module," said Bernd Appel, Senior Vice President Industry Solutions at Lufthansa Systems.
SiraxView offers the full functionality of a traditional management information system. Based on targeted analysis and evaluation, airlines can identify opportunities to increase revenues through advertising and can check the profitability of their routes. By using the SiraxCredit module Brussels Airlines will also benefit from fast, precise, fully automated accounting and the invoicing of sales by credit card and electronic direct debit.
In addition, Lufthansa Systems will supply a full set of revenue accounting services. In cooperation with Lufthansa Revenue Services, the IT provider will deliver accounting and analysis data each day based on its paper and electronic ticket coupons.
